TWO WHEELED NEWSLETTER
JULY APRIL 2008
Dear Friends of Two Wheeled Foundation,
In the dog days of summer the two wheeled revolution continues to turn. The energy is rising for an alternative fuel source to power development in the rural communities of Africa. In July Two Wheeled Foundation hosted its first pedal powered fundraiser. Members of the EMD Serono corporation tested out a pedal power generator and felt the difference between regular 60 Watt and LED light bulbs. Many thanks for their kind contribution to the TWF revolution.
Board members of TWF also attended a meeting of the minds between Bikes not Bombs and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology International Development Design Summit. The appropriate technology unity event was a multi-cultural celebration of bicycle technology and bicycle recycling. Participants from the IDDS conference spanned 20 countries and included professors and pastors, engineers and farmers, masons and mechanics. Two organizations, Maya Pedal of Guatemala and Tumani Cycles of Tanzania highlighted successful stories of utilizing the bicycle as an instrument of social change.
TWF, its board, staff and volunteers are committed to working with groups like Bikes not Bombs, Maya Pedal and Tumani Cycles so that their projects are sustainable and can continue to innovative as the pedal power revolution continues.

Cycling Forward,
